Jan Oke Jens

Jan-Oke was born and raised in Hamburg. His path eventually led him to Berlin, where he began studying directing at the Konrad Wolf Film University. After completing his Bachelor’s degree, he continued his studies in the Master’s program, further developing his cinematic approach. His passion for film was shaped by a wide range of influences. The epic visual language and precise composition of Sergio Leone’s westerns sparked his fascination with cinematic aesthetics, while the work of Jim Carrey showed him the power of humor, physicality, and exaggeration. Bringing these influences together, he developed a style that combines strong visual storytelling with unconventional, slightly offbeat humor. In addition to his narrative work, he also directs documentary films. His projects include short films, music videos, commercials, and documentaries, several of which have received awards at international film festivals.
